Where are DMT Sharpening Stones Made?
Since 1976, DMT Sharpening Stones have been manufactured in Massachusetts. The company offers products ranging from home use to professionals and large commercial operations. Today, DMT partners with high-quality brands to globally distribute their sharpening solutions.
What are DMT Sharpening stones made of?
DMT stones are made of micronized monocrystalline diamonds that evenly cover the surface of the sharpener. Currently, DMT stones contain the most diamonds per square inch in the industry.
Using diamonds as a sharpener produces a clean blade with a razor-sharp edge. On the other hand, a drag-through sharpener leaves metal burrs on the blade that flake off during use.
Diamond sharpening stones are also incredibly durable, so they'll last you a long time without needing to be replaced.
How do you clean a DMT Sharpening stone?
After each use, wet the DMT Sharpening Stone with water and wipe then wipe it off with a rag. It’s important to do this after each use so the residue doesn’t clog up the diamonds. Then, dry the sharpener before storing it.
Occasionally, use any cleanser and a nylon pad to scrub the DMT Sharpening Stone. Again, make sure the sharpener is dry before you store it.
